    A.I. and Fertility Protocol at Harper Adams University Dairy Units 

    Guildlines For The Protocol:

    • Voluntary waiting period 50 days after calving
    • Unless stated on the mating plan, first three services to sexed semen, thereafter beef.
    • If cow is over 300 days in milk do not serve.
    • All ov-sync or CIDR sync cows serve to beef.
    • All eligible cows should be chalked, cows with red chalk are ready or open cows.  Cows with green chalk are cows that could return to heat after a service. Blue chalk marks a PD+ve cow/ heifer
    • Any cows seen bulling in the voluntary waiting period should be noted in the heats section of the appropriate diary and on Bovisync/ Uniform-Agri
